What differentiates HavServe from other non-profit organizations is our lean organizational structure, supported by a team of 100% pro-bono technical experts, which minimizes our overhead and operational costs. Our network of pro bono consultants, local and international volunteers is our greatest asset. The name, HavServe, comes from the understanding that if you have, you serve. HavServe’s website, as well its social media channels, provide timely information about our work in developing countries and in the Washingtion DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. Our website supports our organization’s transparency and demonstrates our willingness to work with clients and partners around the world to make a difference. Managing the quality and presentation of information on these sites is critical to fulfilling HavServe’s development and communications goals.

HavServe is currently seeking an enthusiastic, hands-on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Analyst. Our talented volunteer team has created a website that describes our dynamic, volunteer-led campaigns. We need the help of a SEO savvy team member who can make sure our hard work is found by Internet searches.

Responsibilities:

  • Review our website and become familiar with our mission, material, and current campaigns

  • Discuss our campaigns and overarching mission with our team so you can create the best page titles and SEO for each effort

  • Strategize with our team about how we can increase traffic to our website and social media platforms

  • Review and report metrics/analytics to our team

  • Advise publicity team on strategies to maximize SEO in press releases to drive website traffic.

Selection Criteria:

  • A highly motivated, diligent self-starter with a positive attitude, a desire to learn, a passion for fostering community-led development through volunteerism

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team-environment

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Interactive Communications, Journalism, Marketing or other related field and a minimum two years of relevant Web work experience is desired

  • Some SEO experience required

  • A desire to lead, make suggestions and develop strategies that you will present to our leaders

  • Excellent written and spoken command of English

  • Experience working on cross-functional teams

  • Interest in international development issues

  • Strong diplomatic, interpersonal, and teamwork skills; sensitivity to working in a multicultural environment
