Are you passionate about hunger among senior citizens? Volunteer Prince William’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program has an urgent need for volunteers who can help our two senior centers deliver Meals on Wheels to homebound seniors on weekdays. This is a partnership between Volunteer Prince William and the Prince William Area Agency on Aging. Duties include pick up prepared food at one of two senior centers in Manassas & Woodbridge, deliver the midday meal to homebound seniors, check on the welfare of seniors when food is delivered and bring thermal containers back to the senior center. Shifts are on weekday mornings and run about 3 hours. Training is provided.
Volunteers must be at least 55 years old, have a valid driver’s license, vehicle in good working condition and proper vehicle insurance. Must successfully complete a driving records check and provide references.
Volunteers will feel great knowing they are helping seniors to live independently in their home and receive nutritious midday meals.
RSVP volunteers receive a small mileage stipend to and from their volunteer activities plus liability insurance for their volunteer participation.
