Volunteers will be engaging with children and families attending the Annual Health Fair at Southeast Facility through various learning station activities provided by Jumpstart!
Activities may include:
- "Reading Garden", an area where volunteers will read stories such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar , The Bear Ate Your Sandwich, and The Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza with children
- "Create Rainbow in Your Lunchbox", a learning station where children and volunteers can draw, write, and talk about what foods children like to eat and what foods are healthy
- "Healthy Journal", a learning station where kids can talk and write about what activities they like to do to stay healthy, and maybe even try it out with a volunteer!
Volunteers will meet at the Jumpstart booth in the Kids Zone.

Mission Statement
Jumpstart is a national early education organization working toward the day every child in America enters school prepared to succeed.
Description
Jumpstart aims to close the gap in educational achievement between children from low-income communities and their wealthier peers, before that gap appears. In pursuit of this goal, Jumpstart recruits and trains college students, called Corps members, to help preschool-aged children in low-income neighborhoods develop the language, literacy, and social skills they need to succeed in kindergarten and beyond. Jumpstart inspires children to learn, young adults to teach and lead, families to become more involved in their children’s education, and communities to progress together.
