Thanks to the partners and staff of Traub Lieberman Straus & Shrewsberry LLP , this opportunity is now full. Please contact e.mikos@ulbgc.org if interested in an upcoming scholarship guidance seminar.
Each year, the Union League Boys & Girls Clubs grants college scholarships to members of its eight Boys & Girls Clubs located in challenging Chicago neighborhoods. Since more than 80% of the youth we serve live in households that qualify for free or reduced-price meal programs, the scholarship aid that is provided is highly valued by the recipients and their families. In some cases, the scholarship dollars awarded will determine where or if a new high school graduate will attend college.
We are asking volunteers to visit with our scholarship applicants and review their applications and financial aid forms prior to submission. Volunteers will be asked to discuss the application and its accompanying essay with each applicant and offer comments as to how it might be improved. Financial aid forms will be reviewed for completeness.
We expect that between 30 and 40 applicants will be available.

About Union League Boys & Girls Clubs
Location:
65 West Jackson Blvd, Chicago, IL 60604, US
Mission Statement
To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
Description
In every community, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know that someone cares about them.
Boys and Girls Clubs offer that and more. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls, by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging, and influence. Boys and Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow -- all while having fun.
We have a variety of Clubs throughout the Chicago area.
Each one offers the same opportunities for growth and the same dedicated staff to help and guide our members.
Donations can be made online at our website. Please visit www.ulbgc.org to learn more.
