Communities In Schools of NOVA is seeking volunteers for all subjects and grade levels for the 2016-2017 school year!
CIS NOVA offers a variety of academic assistance programs to support students that are at-risk of falling behind in their learning. Whether you are interested in becoming a reading buddy for an elementary school student or tutoring high biology, CIS NOVA has a place for you on our Tutor Team!
Volunteer programs are held throughout the school week and Saturday mornings at our partner schools in Alexandria and Arlington, VA.
Interested volunteers must complete a background screening and attend an orientation prior to working with students. During the registration and orientation process, we will match you to a school based on your interests and availability.
CIS NOVA partners with local school districts to deliver needed services and programs to students at Barcroft Elementary School, Francis Hammond Middle School, Gunston Middle School, Wakefield High School, and Arlington Community High School.
