Harvest Brunch Banner

Acterra will host our annual Harvest Brunch on Sunday, October 2 for our major donors. This is a way for us to thank our donors and update them on Acterra's environmental programs. We anticipate a group of up to 60 people.

Volunteer opportunities include:

--Helping Acterra staff to set up tables, with table cloths and umbrellas, and setting out chairs

--Helping with registration when guests arrive (checking off names and handing out name tags)

--Monitoring the food tables to alert the kitchen when dishes start running low

--Monitoring drinks table to make sure we have enough water, orange juice, and coffee.

--Making the rounds making sure guests have what they need

--Cleaning at the end of the event (which will end around 12:30) and putting away tables and chairs.

Please join us for brunch during your volunteer shift!

Mission Statement

Acterra is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that brings people together to create local solutions for a healthy planet. We work with residents, businesses, local governments, students, and organizations to support advocacy and education for climate action. We have been a community based organization since 1970.

Description

Acterra is an environmental non-profit serving the Silicon Valley. We provide people with tangible, hands-on activities they can do to improve the environment. All of our work is solution-oriented. We offer several thousand volunteer opportunities each year for adults and youth. Because people get excited by different things, we offer a broad range of programs, from habitat restoration to carbon reduction and more. As importantly, we teach people how to become effective environmental change agents in their communities, neighborhoods, workplaces and schools.

Currently our programs include: Healthy Plate, Healthy Planet; Karl Knapp GoEV, You(th) Be the Change; Green@Home; HomeGrown Bay Area, and Acterra's Student Ambassadors Program.
