International Programs Data Entry Volunteer

Position Title:DataEntry- Project Information Systems

Department: Programs

Reports to:Connie Cummings or Programs Managers (LAC/ASIA/AFRICA or HRT) as needed

Time Commitment:

Position is ongoing: 5-10 hours per week

Hours: Flexible. The volunteer will need to schedule approximately two hours between 9 and 4pm to be trained; the volunteer may also need to schedule conference calls or in- person meetings with Programs staff for questions related to projects. Some of the work can be done from home once they get up to speed on the PIS software.


Using MTI’s project information system / PIS (Sharepoint), enter Project Proposal Summaries (PPSs) including project designs, methodologies, logical frameworks, progress tracking plans and data collection information. Additionally, enter Project Progress Reports (PPRs) and End of Project Reports (EPRs) during the peak seasons when they come to MTI usually in October/November and in April/May.


  • Enter PPSs (goal: 5) and PPRs (goal: 10-15) into MTI’s project information system (PIS).
  • Collaborate with MTI Programs staff to clarify questions or any discrepancies identified in PPSs and PPRs.

  • As assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • International development or public health knowledge and experience.
  • Experience with Sharepoint or similar data entry software preferred

Desired Minimum Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Word - Requires basic skills
  • Microsoft Excel - Requires intermediate skills
  • Attentive to detail, proper grammar usage and punctuation required
