Anyone with a willingness to help and be in an active, fast-paced environment is a perfect match! Volunteer roles include everything from registration/customer service, to more physically active roles such as distributing trees to participants.
Through our Shade Tree Program with SRP, we distribute hundreds of desert-adapted shade trees to residents across the Valley every month. During these events, SRP participants first attend tree care workshops, and then we distribute free shade trees to them immediately after. It's an exciting day for everyone (I mean, who doesn't smile when they're picking up free shade trees?), and we need lots of help to ensure the day runs smoothly.
We will have lots of bagels, cream cheese, snacks, water, and it will be super fun!

Trees Matter is a Phoenix-based 501(c)(3) environmental education nonprofit, whose mission is to inspire and promote an increased tree canopy in the Valley.
Trees offer many critical functions such as shade, pollution reduction, dust reduction, food, increased property value, carbon sequestration, increase in mental and physical health, and more. The Valley has an immediate need for an increased tree canopy; Trees Matter works to alleviate this need by educating the public on tree knowledge, and distributing desert-adapted shade trees to residents across the Valley.
