Volunteer Position: Anoka County Ambassador
The Anoka County Courthouse Ambassador serves as the first point of contact for our diverse population. He/she will help direct the flow of traffic during high volume court calendars and the courthouse remodel project.
Schedule: Monday through Thursday. Morning and afternoons shifts available: 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Volunteers should arrive 15 minutes prior to his/her shift.
Duties :
Greet visitors and direct them to division offices and/or courtrooms.
Accompany visitors to the appropriate division offices and/or courtrooms
May assist as needed with transcribing responses to court forms for self-represented litigants who are unable to write English.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Welcoming, patient, and a willingness to help others with a smile. Outgoing personality, good problem-solving ability, and dependable. A keen eye for detail (using the courthouse schedule and map). Ability to transcribe (write) in English responses provided by self-represented litigants on various court forms. Ability to walk up and down stairs, and stand for extended periods of time. Confidentiality is important; volunteers are required to sign a confidentiality code of compliance and complete a background check.
Dress Code : Business Casual and tennis shoes.
Training/Support:Training and orientation will be provided and ongoing assistance will be provided

Volunteers enroll by completing a skills and interests checklist and these are matched to community needs. From the matches, the volunteer selects a volunteer job that is meaningful and fits.
