The Children's Center Utah SHINE Gala is a lively fundraiser in downtown Salt Lake City to support our mission of providing hope and healing for the children and families facing the challenges of mental health in Utah. This black tie dinner and auction ensures that families can receive our services, regardless of their ability to pay.

This year, the SHINE Gala will be held on Friday, June 3 rd from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Gallivan Center Plaza in Salt Lake City! The event includes a social hour, silent auction, entertainment, buffet dinner and a live auction. We will need volunteers day of to help us set up, assist during the actual event (volunteers must be 21+ to participate during the event), and help us tear down and pack everything up at the end of the night.

Set up volunteers will help us with tables and linens, unload cars and trucks, set up our silent auction items, set up boutique items, count tables and chairs, pick up garbage and recycling, place center pieces, and put on the finishing touches! Volunteers will meet us at the Gallivan Center. Shifts are as follows:

• 8:00 am - 10:30 am
• 10:30 am - 1:00 pm
• 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

During the event, we will have folks helping direct guests, check them in, assist in our silent auction tent, sell opportunity drawing tickets, help spot bidders during our live auction, keep track of bids, and will be helping pack up the silent auction items and handing them out to our winners! All event volunteersmust be at least21 years old, dress in cocktail attire (or a version of a white collared shirt and black pants), and will need to attend an orientation that will be held on Wednesday, June 1 st from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm at The Children’s Center Utah located at 350 South 400 East, SLC UT 84111. Some positions will receive extra training on the bidding software and the live auction. We suggest our volunteers wear sensible shoes as this is a pretty active and engaging night!All volunteers will receive dinner provided at the event before their shift. Shifts are as follows:

• 3:30 pm - 8:00 pm
• 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Clean up will happen pretty immediately after the event ends. We are hoping our 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm volunteers will be able to help a little bit with this, as it is mostly just putting things back in their boxes and loading the truck! However, we know that is a long day for our volunteers and are hoping to have some fresh eyes and bodies show up to help us get everything packed up for the night. The shift for this volunteer position is as follows:

• 9:45 pm - 11:00 pm

This event is fun and volunteers have a great time! You must be 21 to volunteer during the actual event, but we would love to see volunteers of all ages for set up and clean up.
