Join a team and search 2 stream sites for the small insects, clams, and snails that live in the streambed. This is part of a long term sampling program to assess the health of Rouge River tributaries.

Pre-registration is required so that we can pre-assign you to a team. Children 8 and above are welcome when accompanied by one adult per child and groups no larger than 4 people total.

To restore, protect, and enhance the Rouge River watershed through stewardship, education, and collaboration.

Description

Friends of the Rouge is an environmental non-profit organization that has been promoting stewardship of the Rouge River watershed for over 15 years. We run a large environmental education program for schools within the Rouge watershed. We also coordinate a variety of projects for volunteers, adult and youth, individuals and groups. These activities include monitoring environmental quality, neighborhood-based environmental education and pollution prevention, stream cleanups and many other environmental restoration/preservation activities.
