ORGANIZATION: Hearing, Speech & Deaf Center

Duties: Help us keep our beautiful 10-year old facility in tip-top shape! Come lend your skills to help purge, clean, organize and maintain our Archive Room, routine maintenance and basic repairs such as patching and painting walls, replacing light bulbs, setting up community conference rooms, moving furniture and special projects as needed. This is an ideal volunteer opportunity for someone who enjoys fixing things. Qualifications: Desired Qualifications and Requirements:
* Basic carpentry skills
* Comfortable with light-moderate lifting
* Experience working with the Deaf community is a plus!

Description

Hearing, Speech & Deaf Center (HSDC) is a Western Washington service hub for clients who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have communication disorders. For over 75 years, HSDC has worked to remove communication barriers for people with hearing loss, speech challenges, and other communication barriers, empowering them to achieve their full potential.

Our comprehensive services span the life cycle and include: Early Childhood Learning, Community ASL Classes, Audiology Services, Speech Therapy, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Advocacy Services, American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, and an Assistive Technology Store. Our main office is located in Seattle, with additional offices in Tacoma and Bellingham.
