TIME COMMITMENT
As long as you can stay, with a 3 hour minimum. Em J is happy to sign any volunteer paperwork you bring.

REQUIREMENTS
- 21 y/o and above if volunteering on Saturday, any age if volunteering on Friday
- Ability to stand intermittently for 4 hours and do light lifting if position requires.
ATTIRE
Fri, 11/9: Comfortable attire encouraged, closed toed shoes
Sat, 11/10: all black, semi-formal or business casual - no sweats or sportswear
FREE PARKING - FRIDAY
Park in the main lot in the front of the Goodwill Industries building on Michigan Street. This is the northernmost parking lot, on the east side of the building. Look for Door #10.
FREE PARKING - SATURDAY
REVENT parking will be in the lot directly south of the high school, between Vermont and New York Streets. When traveling West on West Michigan, turn Left (South) onto N. Reisner St. from W. Michigan, and you will be directed to the parking lot. Security will be provided in the parking lot during the event.
FOOD
Refreshments will be provided for both days. If you have severe dietary restrictions please plan accordingly. Volunteers encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles.
CHECK-IN
Fri: Upon arrival please sign in and find Em J for instructions.
Sat: Upon arrival please sign in and wait in the concession room for further instructions which will be given once all volunteers arrive.
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
Please behave in a respectful and responsible manner that reflects well on yourself and the IRC. All volunteers agree to refrain from consuming alcohol during shifts unless given permission by Em J. Please do not allow cell phones to be a distraction in front of gala guests.
Friday 11/9 Volunteer Tasks
Decorate - work on centerpieces, hang lights & posters, place cocktail tables out with table clothes and centerpieces, set up dessert and appetizer table
Registration Desk - fill name tags, alphabetize tags, add ribbons and meal tickets
Silent Auction - set up tables, add table clothes, set up silent auction items, assemble large items
Dinner Tables - roll out dinner tables, place 8-10 chairs around each, add table clothes, centerpieces, place IRC half sheet and donation forms, 1 large donation envelope, glasses, rolls of silverware
Misc. - set up T-shirt and raffle ticket table by bar, set up photo booth, set up recycling bins by bar and registration desk, check bathrooms
Saturday 11/10 Volunteer Tasks
Registration Desk - check people in using instructions given (give them nametag, tell them table #, meal ticket info, ask if they’re participating in fashion contest, ask if they want to buy raffle ticket)
Silent Auction - familiarize yourself with items, browse silent auction items for no/low bids, help with the Food Frenzy/Gift Card Grab table, help retrieve silent auction items at check out
Fundraising - work t-shirt table, sell Heads or Tails tickets, promote IRC license plate
Dinner Service - set up dessert table, run bottles of wine to tables, keep track of what desserts/appetizers we are running out of
Photo Booth - encourage folks to use photo booth, take photos of guests, post to IRC Instagram
Tear Down - help tear down, clean up, and load up cars

The mission of the Indiana Recycling Coalition is to support waste reduction, reuse, composting, and recycling activities in Indiana. The Indiana Recycling Coalition supports policies and programs that advance sustainable materials management. The goal of this support is to conserve our natural resources, reduce energy use, encourage environmental responsibility and create green jobs through recycling. The Indiana Recycling Coalition is a not-for-profit, 501 (c)(3) corporation representing concerned citizens, state and local government officials, business, industry and environmental groups since December of 1989.
Description
The IRC helps to advance recycling through K-12 education, legislative advocacy, and outreach through events like our Annual Conference & REVENT, the annual fundraising gala.
