ORGANIZATION: Keystone Hospice

  • 39 people are interested

Keystone Hospice is looking for caring individuals wanting to make a difference as hospice volunteers in the Treasure Valley. The Keystone Care Team strives to extend the highest level of service through innovative care models and holistic approaches to ensure patients and their families receive compassionate and exemplary care. Volunteers are a core part of the Care Team.

The different types of volunteer opportunities are:

Patient & Family Support Volunteers - The heart of our volunteer program is about building relationships with patients and their families. Volunteers do this through regular visits to provide companionship, work on legacy projects, read, write letters, play games, help around the home, provide respite for caregivers, or related activities.

Veteran Volunteers - We are committed to honoring veterans and respect the special bond between Veterans. Veterans Volunteers are matched with Veteran patients and along with visiting them, may participate in ceremonies honoring their service.

Office Support Volunteers - Many Volunteers are needed for non-patient care activities. These Volunteers help our office team with phone calls, charting, crafts, events, and more.

Bereavement Volunteers - With special training in grief, Bereavement Volunteers make phone calls or visits to families whose loved ones have passed away and may help with facilitating grief support groups.

Pet Therapy Volunteers- Certified Pet Therapy Volunteers are so loved in the care facilities we work with to make visits to patients with their Idaho certified therapy dog.

Vigil Volunteers - With special training, Vigil Volunteers ensure that patients are not alone when they are actively dying. By holding space and being a compassionate presence, our Vigil Volunteers are dedicated to the very mission of hospice.

Please reach out! We provide an in-depth training and one on one support to all Volunteers and once we hear from you, our Volunteer Coordinator will contact you with dates for upcoming training opportunities. Note that all applicants must complete a background check and a two-step TB test. Thank you for your interest and care for our community.
