We will be hosting our 3 rd Annual Thanksgiving Community Outreach Event November 5, 2016 at the Prime Osborne Convention Center. We will be attempting to pack 900,000 meals that day that will be distributed back in to our community through food pantries, mission homes and backpack programs as well as through other organizations! We will have churches, civic organizations and businesses that have sponsored tables there with anywhere from 3000-3500 participants and 250 - 500 volunteers throughout the day. We will be packing in 3 two-hour sessions with the 1 st one starting at 8:00 am, 2 nd one at 11:30am and the 3 rd one at 3:00pm.
We need volunteers to come out and be on the Table Captain Crew! The table captains will be responsible for being sure each table is adequately staffed with 12 volunteers. Makes sure their table is putting in the correct amount of ingredients, leveling scoops, weighing each bag correctly, getting all air out of bags before sealing, and packing the correct number of bags in each box. Each Table Captain will be overseeing 2 tables. It is your responsibility to be sure that the packing line is not rushing or racing. They should be paying attention to what they are doing!
We will be holding several trainings for this volunteer opportunity befre the event.

Mission Statement
Hunger Fightis a 501(c)3 nonprofit humanitarian food aid organization. Hunger Fight's mission is to significantly reduce the number of hungry children and families in the First Coast and surrounding area. We distribute 3 meals; Macaroni and Cheese, Rice and Beans or a fortified Soy/Rice Casserole meal specifically formulated to meet the nutritional needs of a hungry or starving child. We engage volunteers, as young as six years old, to package the ingredients for the meals. Maintain a working relationship with hundreds of food banks, food pantries and mission homes all throughout Northeast Florida. We are also a Disaster Relief Partner for the Salvation Army.
Description
HungerFight packages 3 meals: mac-n-cheese, beans and rice, and a rice-soy casserole, fortified with 21 essential vitamins and 9 minerals, therefore meeting the needs of hungry and starving children and families. This protein and nutrient rich formula improves physical health as well as the mental capacity to learn. Our nutritious meals are financed entirely by donations, packaged by volunteers and delivered to those in need with the help of local partners.
