About

This position provides hands-on experience in various facets of event planning and implementation, volunteer management, development, and community outreach. It will offer experience in the use of current business and development technologies including the use of a PC computer and various software applications such as MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Greater Giving (fundraising software).

The intern will likely help with day-of-event set up, work with donors to procure and pick up auction items, utilize Greater Giving software to track and manage guest lists and donations and plan for auction setup. The intern will also work with the Development team and Macy’s on logistics for the annual Wear Red Day event in support of the Go Red For Women campaign. These activities include but are not limited to, securing table vendors, designing table and store layout, communicating with the designer on passport creation, and acting as a logistical lead the day of the event. Other activities include securing day of event volunteers and managing correspondence.

  • Knowledge of basic business processes such as internet use, making and answering phone calls, data entry, etc.

  • Must be available to work in the office (located on SW Macadam in the John’s Landing area), likely 15-20 hours per week depending on the interns desire to learn, availability and/or educational requirements


This position may qualify for college credit depending on school/university requirements. Applicant must be at least 18 years of age and pass a background check. There is no compensation for this internship.
