Help low-income students succeed in school by signing up to help with homework at Bienestar's MpowR Club!

With a focus on math and reading, the MpowR Club meets Monday-Thursday from 3-5:30 p.m. in Forest Grove. Over the course of two hours, up to 26 students will attend the after-school program for help with homework, educational games, reading activities, tutoring and more!

All activities are run by a full-time Bienestar staff member with the help of our dedicated, talented volunteers.

MpowR Club is a resident services program of Bienestar, which has provided affordable housing and educational opportunity to Washington County residents since 1981.

Description

Bienestar is a 35-year-old nonprofit community development corporation providing affordable housing and resident services to agricultural workers and other low-income families in Washington County. Bienestar owns 12 apartment properties and serves more than 2,000 individuals, about 93% of whom are Latino. In addition, Bienestar has built and sold five lease-to-own homes to farmworker families.

Through our on-site Community Rooms, Bienestar offers free resident services programs, including educational youth and adult programs. These include MpowR Club, financial literacy programs, ESL classes, GED classes, Education Navigation, Summer Lunch and Fun, Explorador Camp, Individualized Development Accounts and more.
