A beautiful bonfire like this will keep us warm as we work to help the forest preserve!

Every Wed. from 9 am - Noon.

Channel your inner lumber jack as we cut down the invasive shrub Asian honeysuckle and burn it in a bonfire.

We'll wander off-trail to maintain this high quality woodland by removing invading weeds and collecting and spreading seeds of native flowers and grasses. You'll get up close and personal, seeing wildlife and rare flowers that others miss.

Late Summer into Fall = seed collecting from native flowers

Fall into Winter = invasive brush cutting with bonfires.

Spring = enjoying the first wildflowers

We provide all the tools and gloves plus the knowledge to guide your contribution.

This opportunity is in partnership with the Palos Restoration Project and the Forest Preserves of Cook County.
