Assists with the ongoing cataloging and scanning of the Wisconsin Maritime Museum’s collection. Specifically on the almost 100,000 historic photographs and postcards.
Volunteers for this role will be expected to catalog photographs in museum’s computer database either by typing up old catalog cards or creating new descriptions for recently donated photographs. They will be required to scan photographs and/or attach digital images to database as well.
Training will be provided.
Skills Needed:
- Attention to detail.
- Comfortable and fairly proficient with computers.
- Able to sit for long periods of time.
- Patience with repetitive tasks (ie. scanning)
- Some knowledge of boats and maritime history is extremely helpful.
