Looking for someone who loves caring for other people, joining a team of dedicated professionals in supporting the community-wide program development efforts.
Seeking a full-time or part-time grant writer committed to helping. The right candidate will manage this dynamic schedule and develop new relationships and sources of funding.
Job Responsibilities:
- Research, writing, and submission of grant proposals, supporting documents (including budgets) and interim reports
- Maintenance and implementation of grants calendar
- Regular communication with funders, acting as organization liaison
- Attending proposal meetings and doing presentations as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- 2 years grant-writing experience preferred
Skills:
- Excellent writing, presentation, computer, and database management skills
- Ability to relate program budgets to grant narratives
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet appropriate deadlines

To provide underserved men, women, children, offenders and the invisible homeless with resources, access to training, coaching, mentoring, counseling, advocacy, mediation and life-skills development. Our programs provide the tools, strategies, and support they need to overcome barriers, increase family reunification, achieve self-sufficiency while reducing the risks of homelessness and recidivism for themselves and for their families.
Description
Family In Distress is a corporation designed exclusively for religious, charitable, and educational or scientific purposes within the meaning of a section 501 c (3) of the IRS code to instill spiritual, self reliance and self sufficiency for those in need. To present programs, projects, services, seminars, lectures, counseling, and therapeutic sessions for the intergenerational sectors of South Florida , especially inner city areas. To present services, programs and projects for Veterans, Seniors, Single Parents (male and/or female) those who suffer from cancer and other potential terminal ailments and high risk youth. For the development of temporary housing, assisted living facility, transitional housing facilitation, for people living with HIV/AIDS, feeding and clothing programs, affordable housing for low to moderate income persons; transitional housing for battered and abused women and children, temporary sheltering of the homeless; to promote, then to provide education and information to raise the socioeconomic development of the inner communities. To interact with governmental, faith and other community based organizations to enhance programs, projects and services to those in need.
