The Brentwood Muslim Community Center (BMCC) is a 501c3 non-profit organization which believes kids are essential in leading the way to a better humanity and future for all. We teach our BMCC children to love, not hate. We connect kids with the resources they need to understand that patience and perseverance will help you to achieve your goals in academics and in society.
Our current dilemma is that funding is low for the BMCC children's activities and child care during our evening services. We are a religious institution with evening service and require a few assistants for Child Care during congregation. We will have activities, games, and crafts planned and need assistants to engage and supervise. We are looking for interns, teachers, child care workers and student aides to assist our teachers with activities.
You will be supervised in working with children age 3-10, one on one or in small groups.
We are converting our classrooms into child-care rooms from 6pm-10:30pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sunday evenings. We may need help Monday thru Friday.
We will accept volunteers who can work 1hr - 10 hours / week. More hours are available during our summer session June 3 - 21st. We will only accept volunteers who are comfortable working with children from different backgrounds and ethnic origins and who pass our brief screening process.
We will credential and verify hours worked towards your Child Development, Child Care, or any Early Education certifications. We will provide letters of recommendation and community service hours in exchange for your time.
