Color Guard needed at the Baltimore Walk to Defeat ALS!

ORGANIZATION: The ALS Association - DC/MD/VA Chapter

We have our Baltimore Walk to Defeat ALS at Canton Waterfront Park coming up on October 1st and are in need of a color guard to open up our ceramony. The ceremony begins at 10:00am, but we ask that the colorguard arrive by 9:00am and are ready to go by 9:45.

Just to give you a little bit of background information about our organization: the ALS Association is the only national not-for-profit health organization dedicated solely to the fight against ALS. Our mission is to help people living with ALS and to leave no stone unturned in search for a cure. On a daily basis, staff and volunteers are working diligently to develop programs to make sure that our ALS family can count on the caring, compassionate support of people who understand the daily challenges of living with the daily challenges of living with this disease.

Leading the fight to treat and cure ALS through global research and nationwide advocacy while also empowering people with Lou Gehrig's Disease and their families to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support. The DC/MD/VA is based in Rockville, MD with an office in Richmond, VA.

Description

The ALS Association - DC/MD/VA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of people living with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis a.k.a. Lou Gehrig’s Disease) and their families in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. The ALS Association National Office and the ALS Association - DC/MD/VA Chapter operate under a shared mission: to support people living with ALS and to leave no stone unturned in the search for a cure. The ALS Association - DC/MD/VA is currently serving almost 700 people living with ALS and their families. These services include assistive technology devices, social worker visits, medical equipment loan closet, transportation grants, and many other services. All of the Chapter's services are provided free of charge to the families.
