Community Engagement/Awareness

Just Us MA's - The A'Tierra Westbrook Project is conducting it's 1st Annual Operation Empower Our Girls on January 7, 2017. We are a grassroots organization with very limited resources at this time so we need volunteers for every facet of this project to make it successful.

Our organization was born in honor of our dear A’Tierra Westbrook who was viciously murdered on August 3, 2015 in Vallejo, CA. "MA’s" stands for "mothers and aunts" and is named for our mother-aunt-aunt trio who have been tremendously affected by the tragic and unexpected loss of our beloved baby girl. On this journey, we have vowed not to let our precious A’Tierra’s death be in vain. We have vowed to be a part of the solution to the problems that plague our communities and perpetuate violence. Through partnership with other organizations, agencies and support groups; we hope to provide skill building, preventative and supportive services to victims of violence, families of victims and perpetrators and their surrounding communities.

We are in the planning process and need help with fundraising, grant writing, community outreach and volunteer coordination. If you are passionate about helping young girls and believe that changing a girl's life will ultimately change a nation, PLEASE JOIN US!!

Description

"Just Us MA’s - The A’Tierra Westbrook Project" was born in honor of our dear A’Tierra Westbrook who was viciously murdered on August 3, 2015 in Vallejo, CA. "MA’s" stands for "mothers and aunts" and is named for our mother-aunt-aunt trio who have been tremendously affected by the tragic and unexpected loss of our beloved baby girl. Mothers hurt like no other when their child is senselessly murdered, they bear the pain forever. Aunts are like second mothers and feel the hurt their sibling experiences. It is vital to have the support of your sister - being blood related or not.....I AM MY SISTER’S KEEPER!!
