Mission Statement

It is our mission to address the immediate needs of children and youth rescued from crisis situations. We support the emergency service personnel that respond to the call, remove them, comfort them, and keep them safe.

Description

Love in the Journey is a 501c3 Non Profit. Our staff consist of coworkers and friends of Gaston County who support children, youth, and families in crisis on a volunteer basis. No member of Love in The Journey holds a paid position. 100% of all donations are used to comfort children, youth, and families in crisis situations. We rely solely on the kindness of strangers to do what we do, and the volunteers who show up endlessly to help us keep pushing forward changing lives of children in our community.

The Journey Bags are bags that are available to emergency personnel for the emergency removal of children a nd youth. These bags are given to Police, Fire, EMS, and Social Workers by request. Most times when a child is being removed for an emergency situation, chances are they are not going home for the night. The Journal Bags contain items such as: Teddy Bear or Pillow Pet, a warm blanket, a coloring book, crayons, hygiene kit, worry doll, and a flash light or night light. Stuffed animal to cuddle, warm blanket to snuggle, book and crayons to keep the mind busy, toothbrush and toothpaste to brush away the sugar bugs, and a flashlight or night light to shine a light into the darkness when they become afraid.
