The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.
The Cheney Historical Museum is looking for individuals to welcome visitors to the museum, assist people doing research with using the people books and computer database. Volunteers may, if they desire, assist with light-duty cleaning, changing exhibits, and small projects.
The Cheney Historical Museum is open on Thursday - Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May through September and Fridays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. October through April. Volunteer shifts are 2 or 4 hours depending on your schedule. No special knowledge of history is required, just being friendly and welcoming to all visitors.
While at the museum you can optionally help with small data entry projects that help us to make more information searchable and accessible.
