About Urban Improv:
Urban Improv is an educational and youth development program that uses structured theater improvisation to teach decision-making, conflict resolution, impulse control, and values clarification. Founded in 1993, Urban Improv provides interactive workshops that challenge students to deal creatively with major issues in their lives. Improvisational themes include violence and conflict resolution, racism and discrimination, bullying and cyber bullying, substance abuse, peer pressure, harassment, homophobia, teen pregnancy, and stereotyping.
The Actor/Educator Intern will be working in a creative and collaborative ensemble that develops and present songs and scenes that are relevant to the lives of the elementary and middle school students in our program. A true passion for the mission and understanding of the community we serve are vital. Our Actor/Educator Intern should be invested in the youth they work with and strive to achieve the goals and mission of the program.
