Some of our families!

Interested in helping students and parents get off to a Great Start this year? Side by Side is seeking energetic volunteers to register families, serve meals, and assist with childcare during our fall Great Start sessions. Great Stark workshops are about bringing parents, teachers, and students together for a free family meal, engaging workshops taught by teachers, and free childcare. We offer service hours for high school students as well.

If that isn’t your speed, we also have new behind the scenes support positions that can be done from home or customized to fit your schedule. For more information and to get specific dates, email Katie Meixner-Croft at katie@sidebysidelaurel.org. We currently work at five elementary schools: Bond Mill, Deerfield Run, James Harrison, Laurel, and Scotchtown Hills. Sessions are from 5:45 PM-8:00 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
