Summary
The Area Manager Assistant supports the Westside Head Start Zero-Five Program by helping the Area Manager with day to day area management.
Time Commitment
Flexible - to be determined with supervisor - school year committment requested
Tasks
The Area Manager Assistant will be expected to focus on several of the bulleted duties listed below. The specific tasks will be clarified during the volunteer interview.
Duties:
Order supplies for the classrooms, visit each class and ask staff what they are in need of
Track materials being spent in classrooms
Monitoring support
Schedule staff meetings for Area Managers
Make phone calls
Overview/file paperwork
Deliver thank you cards to teachers
Make phone calls to parents to check in and see if teachers are being welcoming in the classrooms (Quality monitoring...)
May attend meetings on behalf of Area Managers only when they are scheduled at the same time (community, advisory, EQUIP meetings...)
Professional Skills & Experience
Ability to maintain confidentiality; Communication Skills; Dependable; Patience + Nurturing attitude with kids; Team Player; Understanding of at-risk populations; Bi-lingual (Spanish speaking) is a plus.

Description
Our office serves to connect volunteers with different opportunities across the valley. These opportunities serve our many different sites which work with different vulnerable populations including refugees, pregnant teens, and children in foster care.
