Wellspring Education Center and Organic Farm welcomes schools and other groups to bring their students out to the farm to field trips. S tudents participate in lessons and activities to engage their senses, and build connections with the source of our food. All visits are tailored to students’ ages, learning levels and classroom goals.
We are looking for volunteers who are interested in helping to teach activities during field trips. Most trips are 1-2 hours, with the occasional school bringing out multiple groups during one day. The volunteer would be comfortable taking the lead on teaching short activities such as:
- Where our food comes from
- How plants grow
- Plant and soil life cycles
- Composting and worm composting
- Environmental stewardship
- Connections between healthy food and our bodies
- Chickens

Our organization is committed to "growing" the next generation of organic farmers and gardeners and our programs are designed to educate others about food safety, security and sovereignty. Since 1982 programs offered to the public have included wellness, ecology and gardening, the arts, and personal growth. Wellspring offers farm tours, workshops and learning opportunities for individuals, families, school and community groups throughout the year.
