SHOPIFY EXPERT - Help South African women to earn a living

Cause Areas

It's flexible! We'll work with your schedule.

This is a Virtual Opportunity, with no fixed address.
These are two of the 500 South African artists with whom we work. They are lifting themselves out of poverty through their remarkable beadwork. Art Aids Art is building a community center in Khayelitsha to provide them with additional support.

Art Aids Art seeks a volunteer SHOPIFY EXPERT who is interested in having a meaningful impact on a small, fast growing nonprofit organization working in South Africa. Art Aids Art promotes education, wellbeing and sustainable economic development, working primarily with South African women and children impacted by poverty and/or HIV/AIDS. We are the FIRST American organization to open an art and education center in South Africa's largest township, Khayelitsha. To create income for formerly-unemployed women living in shanty towns, we sell their handcrafted art online, and now run our e-commerce store using the Shopify platform. However, we are still beginners at the many ways to optimize the site and make full use of the robust tools available. With the holiday season approaching, this can have a profound effect on women who struggle to survive on a daily basis.

The volunteer must be willing to dedicate approximately 2-4 hours a week to this project, which will include reviewing our current usage of the site, providing us with advice about how to improve it, and assisting with the process of implementing improvements. We would very much like to work with someone on a long term basis, if possible, but for the remainder of 2016 would also suffice in the short term. This is an unpaid voluntary position, but the reward of changing lives is South Africa is powerful. If you are interested, please contact us.
