Volunteer tutors needed to provide in home tutoring services to immigrant and refugee children living with parents who have limited English proficiency. Volunteers will meet with the children and teens in their home, with a parent or adult present and assist them with homework and other assignments. Many of the children we serve are falling behind in school as their parents don't have the language skills to help their child with their homework. This service is free to low income families who don't have transportation or access to community based tutoring programs. Though it is geared towards immigrant and refugees, we don't turn away any child who is from a low income family and in need of extra help. This is a very rewarding opportunity to play an important role in a child or teen's life. You can play a part in helping them go from frustrated student to a prepared student, excited about school and looking forward to a bright future.

You can set your own schedule and and times, though most tutoring will take place in the after school hours. We ask that you take on at least 1 student and commit to at least 1.5 hours a week. Most of the students we serve live in the South St. Louis area but we serve children through the St. Louis City and County.
