Snoqualmie has always had a special connection to its forests. Continuing this tradition, a new partnership has been formed between the City of Snoqualmie, Forterra, the Snoqualmie Tribe, King Conservation District, Mountains to Sound Greenway, the Snoqualmie Ridge ROA and citizen volunteers to make sure these special places will continue to thrive into the future Join us and your neighbors and be a part of Snoqualmie’s forest legacy at our inaugural event. There is no better way to connect with your local natural and neighborhood communities!
Forest restoration activities: Remove invasive non-native plants such as Himalayan blackberry and planting native plants in their place. No experience necessary!
What to bring: Come dressed to work outside (rain or shine) with sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Tools, work gloves, and light snacks provided.
Where to meet: Our sign-in table will be on the east side of Douglas Ave SE between SE Curtis Dr and SE Basset St in Snoqualmie Ridge. There is parking on Douglas Ave SE, but we recommend parking in the Snoqualmie Community Park parking lot behind the YMCA and walking over.

Mission Statement
Forterra's mission is to act with immediacy to protect, enhance and steward our region's most precious resources--its communities and its landscapes. Since 1989, we have been working toward a future in which our children and grandchildren can experience nature in and around our urban environments.
Description
Forterra conserves land by working with individuals, companies and local governments. We strive to maximize the ecological value of land, while meeting the needs of landowners. We may accept land as a donation, purchase it, or transfer it to public ownership. We often serve as a broker to identify and negotiate the most effective ownership to protect important lands. We establish conservation easements to preserve special features. For each and every property, we explore available strategies or create new ones to provide permanent protection. Forterra has established a Conservation Agenda for our region, with specific priorities and methods for each type of landscape. Current initiatives include the protection of working forests on the foothills of the Cascades, and the creation of salmon sanctuaries along our region's highest quality rivers and streams.
