Photographer Needed for Fundraising Event

ORGANIZATION: Junior Achievement of Chicago

We are in need of a photographer for our annual Chicago Business Hall of Fame event. The signature event honors the incredible life stories of business leaders who have provided for the Chicago community and serve as exceptional role models for today’s youth.

The photographer must have their own camera and have equipment to shoot in a dark auditorium. We ask that you dress in business professional attire and be able to talk to strangers, as you will be interacting with executives, teens, and JA donors. An itinerary and list of specific shots to capture will be provided. JA will reimburse for parking and can offer a small stipend for any post-editing work if needed.

When you apply, please send a link to your online portfolio or include a few examples of your work.

More about the event: For over 3 decades, Junior Achievement of Chicago has honored 165 of Chicago’s most distinguished business people and entrepreneurs through induction into the Chicago Business Hall of Fame. Established in 1983 by the Junior Achievement Board of Directors, this event honors the champions of free enterprise and benefits the work of Junior Achievement. About Junior Achievement of Chicago

Mission Statement

To inspire and prepare young people to succeed in the global economy.

Description

Junior Achievement is the world's largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices. In partnership with businesses and educators, JA brings the real world to students, opening their minds to their potential.

Our corporate and community volunteers deliver relevant, hands-on experiences that give students from kindergarten through high school knowledge and skills in financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship. JA programs empower students to make a connection between what they learn in school and how it can be applied in the real world - enhancing the relevance of their classroom learning and increasing their understanding of the value of staying in school.

Throughout JA's sequential and integrated kindergarten through high school programs, students think critically and solve complex problems. Through our business, financial, and entrepreneurial educational programs, we prepare students to:

  • Proactively manage their finances;
  • Become entrepreneurs; and
  • Develop skills that will be recognized and valued in a global workforce.

During the 2017-2018 school year, JA of Chicago successfully reached 600,222 students of all ages, races, ethnic backgrounds and physical capabilities, including at-risk youth in twelve Chicago-area and northwestern Indiana counties.
