Have you noticed how few trees Michigan street has when driving up and beyond the hill? So have we! That’s why we’re partnering with the Michigan Street Corridor Improvement District to bring more trees to Michigan street! We work until all the trees are planted, but whatever time you can give is very much appreciated. Please consider joining us. We have planted hundreds of trees in the community so far and want to continue this important work with you!
No experience necessary. Tools and direction will be provided by trained Citizen Foresters and other experienced tree planting volunteers. Please wear closed-toe shoes.
For more information, or to rsvp please email Urban Forest Project Coordinator, Daria at Daria@friendsofgrparks.org

Mission Statement
Empowering people to cultivate vibrant parks, green spaces, and trees in our community.
Description
The mission of Friends of Grand Rapids Parks is to empower people to cultivate vibrant parks, trees, and green spaces in the Grand Rapids community. Our vision is thriving parks and a sustainable urban forest that actively supports our community’s economic, environmental, and cultural health. Our organization was founded in 2008, with the belief that all kids in our community are entitled to experiences in parks and opportunities to connect with nature. For some children in our community, their neighborhood park is their backyard; a place to discover their hidden talents and a place to build confidence in trying new things.
