The Glory Foundation is a nonprofit organization it’s mission is to provide respite care the GIFT OF REST for caregivers (parents, family foster parents, grandparents etc.) of children with life limiting illness. Respite care will take place in a home staffed and designed to provide nursing care for these children. We will also provide parental and grief counseling, sibling workshops utilizing art and music expression.Our goal is to keep care in the community our organization is the village that cares.
Parent Caregiver Focus Group
We are searching for caregivers who want to make a difference in the way children with life limiting illness parent's and family's are supported
We will need for you to be able to
* share some of your story and what supports would be helpful to you as a caregiver
* describe your ideal out of home support that your family and child would benefit from
* family size and geographic location (city and zip code)
* if caregiver has quit work, or school due to caring for child with life limiting illness
* share if your child is currently with a hospice or palliative care organization
* share if your child has a chronic or terminal disease
* share where your child receives clinical treatment
* how many hours per day you provide medical care for your child
* If you receive Medicaid waiver services
* how many siblings your child has and the effect of your child’s illness on the overall family's ability to participate in out of home family events
* has any caregiver sustain injuries or develop illness related to being a long term caregiver for the child
* What would be an ideal respite care service for you overnight, weekend, or evening care, drop in care
* what health insurance your child has
* Your child's age, date of diagnosis
We do not need your address,child's name, social security number, or birthdate. We will serve lite refreshments for our parents and caregiver focus group. Date for group to meet will be given once parent contacts. The Glory Foundation intake coordinator (Tiona Gosha RN, BSN)
Additonal Information
If parents find it difficult to attended the focus group can be done via confrence call. We understand your inability to leave home.
