ORGANIZATION: Department of Human Services Riverplace

  • 5 people are interested

It takes a village to raise a family. Enlist your friends, family, co-workers, fellow church/organization members by holding a donation drive to benefit children in our community. So have a little fun by creating a competition within your office, congregation, or family members to see who can collect the most donations. The Iowa Department of Human Services has a Kinship Program to help provide immediate needs for children who are placed with a relative/family within the first 30-90 days. Some of these children’s needs are diapers (all sizes-especially preemie and newborn), wipes (unscented), pull-ups for boys and girls in all sizes, formula, clothing for preemie and newborns, gift cards for food and gas (Target, Walmart, Gordmans, Casey’s, Kum-N-Go), bedding (sheets, pillow cases, blankets), toiletries, and school supplies. Our office is open Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (except for Holidays). Donations may be dropped off during that time frame at 2309 Euclid Avenue Des Moines, IA 50310 or I’d be happy to help arrange a time to pick these items up.
