Do you enjoy working with youth? Are you passionate about serving your community? Becoming a Club Volunteer will give you the opportunity to serve in our of our 13 Clubs!
Since 1944, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula has been a safe haven for our youth, providing an alternative to the negative influences of the streets. BGCVP is a place of comfort and security as well as a place of learning and development.
Volunteers serve as an essential role in maintaining successful progress towards our mission. This position involves assisting staff and supervisors with daily activities and acting as positive informal mentors. Hence, volunteers would need to exemplify the priorities of security, appreciation, efficiency, and fun.
Responsibilities:
Equally enforce Club rules to all members.
Be dependable and adhere to a set volunteer schedule.
Sign in and out upon arrival and departure.
Other duties assigned by supervisor.

Description
We provide a safe place to learn and grow through ongoing relationships with caring adults while providing life-enhancing programs and character development experiences that foster hope and opportunity. We provide programs in these five core areas:
- Education & Career Development
- Character & Leadership Development
- Health & Life Skills
- Sports, Recreation & Fitness
- The Arts
We serve over 6,000 youth between the ages of 6 and 18 throughout Hampton, Newport News, York County, Gloucester and Mathews County. We have a total of 13 Clubs.
