Mary Centre is looking for a volunteer to accompany an adult male with a developmental disability to his scheduled program every Monday from 9am-3pm.The volunteer would be responsible for going to the long term care facility where the individual resides and accompanying the individual on the TransHelp bus to attend his community program. While at the program, the volunteer would be required to engage the individual in scheduled activities, and assist him with his lunch if necessary (i.e. opening his juice, unwrapping his sandwich).
Prospective volunteers will have good communication skills, be patient, friendly, outgoing, and engaging. Experience with inividuals with developmental disabilities is beneficial, but not essential.

Mary Centre highly recommends First Aid/CPR, and Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behaviour (UMAB) training. * A current vulnerable sector search is required*
Mary Centre Location is fully accessible, however volunteer would be in the community with the individual and these locations may not be accessible.
