Mary Centre is looking for a volunteer friendly visitor for an adult female with a developmental disability. The volunteer would provide opportunities for social interaction, accompany the individual in the community, and provide friendly support while engaging in social activities (i.e. going to the mall, riding bikes, walking, going out for coffee). Visits would be one to two times per week, and would be coordinated with the individual and her Mary Centre support staff.
We are looking for a volunteer who has good communication skills, is patient, friendly, and outgoing, and can be a positive lifestyle role model (nutrition, hygiene, safety skills, social skills). Experience with individuals with a developmental disability is beneficial but not a requirement. .

Mary Centre highly recommends First Aid/CPR, and Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behaviour (UMAB) training. * A current vulnerable sector search is required*
Mary Centre Location is fully accessible, however volunteer would be in the community with the individual and these locations may not be accessible.
