Hi!
NYLaughs, Inc. (www.nylaughs.org) is a unique 501(c)3 not-for-profit that strives to strengthen the human connection via laughter by producing free shows in NYC public venues! Our signature event is a summer series of free comedy shows in NYC parks called Laughter in the Park (www.laughterinthepark.org).
We seek to inspire New Yorkers through humor. Our mission is to strengthen the human connection through laughter and to raise the profile of the comedic arts.
We are a unique performing arts institution in NY that brings an extremely diverse group of New Yorkers together with humor. When you come to our shows, you'll see every ethnicity, age, socio economic background, religion, etc. in our audience. We embrace our differences and seek to build community one laugh at a time.
NYLaughs is in desperate need to find a grantwriter / grant manager to advise us and coordinate a grant calendar over the course of a year. We're an unconventional organization because we think that laughter can build community so we produce free comedy shows in public spaces. It's more than just comedians standing in a park. It's about seeing the way we bring diverse people together in peace and harmony. It's also about celebrating the comedic arts. It's been challenging getting funders to understand our mission. We really need someone that had written grants for performing arts organizations that produce free programming. Would love someone who has NEA grant expertise, too.
If you'd like to help or can offer some advice or help us find someone, please let us know. Check us at nylaughs.org or laughterinthepark.org.
Thanks so much!
