The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment of volunteers for Feline Rescue, arrangement of their training and service as volunteers, the maintenance of records, and communication and coordination of volunteer activity at Feline Rescue and at off-site events. This position screensjmkkkkkkk volunteer applications, contacts and interviews applicants, returns inquiries from the phone and website, and reviews applications for applicant interest and compliance with volunteering policy. Reviews include, but are not limited to, the age of applicant (and application of parent/guardian if under age 18), the applicant's availability for shifts, whether the minimum of a six-month commitment will be met, and whether volunteering is a result of court-mandated community service. The person in this position should have at least 3 months of experience as a shelter caregiver, demonstrate an understanding of the interview process and techniques, especially as they apply to discrimination and disabilities and have organizational skills to ensure that all tasks are completed, all applications are appropriately reviewed and forwarded, and records are properly maintained.

Description
Feline Rescue, Inc. is a Minnesota based no-kill companion cat rescue organization. Our founders established Feline Rescue in 1997 in Minneapolis, MN as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. We are an all volunteer organization, with no paid staff. We are funded exclusively through donations and grants. We receive no municipal, state, or federal funding.
Our mission is to provide safe shelter, veterinary care, and socialization for stray, abandoned or abused cats until good permanent homes can be found for them. Our mission does not enable us to accept owner surrendered animals.
We provide rescue and relief to the homeless and endangered cats in our community through programs that offer shelter, foster, social and medical rehabilitation, feral cat colony management, spay/neuter subsidy, and community education.
