Join Jumpstart at Orange Coast College for a day of literacy and fun! Volunteers are needed to help PBS SoCal facilitate activities with families and children. We will also be giving away resources, helping children with a magnetic poetry board, and supervising pictures with the Super WHY Character!
Interested volunteers can sign up for the morning shift (8:30am-12:30pm) or the afternoon shift (12:30pm-5pm).
Come hang out with us for the day! Refreshments and snacks will be provided.

Description
Each year, one third of America's children arrive on their first day of school without the skills necessary to succeed at grade level. When children begin behind their peers, catching up, especially without additional assistance, is difficult and unlikely. By focusing on enriching the education of preschool students from disadvantaged communities, Jumpstart is making sure every child has a chance at success. Jumpstart is a national nonprofit dedicated to inspiring children to learn, adults to teach, families to get involved, and communities to progress together.
