Church Ride Chaperone

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Accord

  • 3 people are interested

Objective: Provide a ride and host a resident of a CIP Adult Foster Care home at church. Provide support, guidance, and friendship to an individual who shares similar interests. A chance to give back to your community while having fun at the same time!

Responsibilities: Give the resident a ride to church and assist in their integrating into the community. The first meeting will take place at the resident’s house so that the resident may meet the volunteer and decide if they are comfortable going to church with them. The Volunteer Coordinator will then contact the volunteer to schedule the activity. We ask that the volunteer call the resident on the day of the activity to remind/confirm that they are meeting that day. If the volunteer does not receive confirmation of the meeting from the resident, they may assume the meeting is not on for that day.

Mission Statement

As listeners, learners and leaders, we will stand with and support people with disabilities in their communities as they pursue their personal dreams and goals.

Description

We're here to help people cope with the issues surrounding social injustice, low income, aging, and homelessness -- and, in doing so, to help them live their greatest lives.

Since 1971, we've been meeting people where they are and bringing them what they need to live as independently, creatively, and fully as possible. We offer a variety of services and supports, which have all been developed as a result of listening to and understanding the needs of the people we serve, their loved ones and their communities.
