Beyond the Bell, formerly known as Hot Meals & Homework, needs your help!
ForKids' mission to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty starts with our children. Our after-school tutoring program takes place in 6 locations across south Hampton Roads, and we need your help to make it happen.
The tutoring sites operate either 4pm-6pm or 5pm-6:30pm, depending on the location. The fall semester will begin September 19, and the programs run Monday through Thursday weekly. We need a minimum of 5 volunteers per day, per site.
In order to volunteer, you must be 18+, attend a volunteer orientation, and pass an online criminal background check. We do require a minimum one day per week commitment for at least a full semester. (Our Suffolk location now allows high school students to tutor after meeting certain requirements! Fill out a volunteer application on our website to find out more information.)
