ORGANIZATION: Town Cats

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS PROVIDED!

Are you part of a High School or Junior High School group that needs volunteer hours?

IMMEDIATE NEEDS FOR THOSE UNDER 18 (or over 18):

Food Drives: We need volunteers of ANY age who are not looking for a long term commitment to HOLD and RUN food drives. These will require no "training" by Town Cats staff and can easily be done by a motivated teen or group of teens/tweens. You would identify a storefront in your area (these can be done from anywhere), such as a grocery store, pet store, or hardware store. (Be SURE to get permission from the manager beforehand - we re a non-profit and our tax ID number is on the home page of our website at www.towncats.org). Set up a card table (or larger), preferably with a tablecloth (plastic from a dollar store is perfect), with a "donation jar" (a coffee can with a slit in the lid, wrapped In cat themed gift wrap and labeled "donations appreciated" would be great), hand out flyers to raise awareness of Town Cats, (I will have several files I can send to you and you can have them printed out for distribution), and telling people that we are collecting cat food and kitty litter to benefit both our kitties that are in foster care in private homes or in one of our adoption centers. TRACK YOUR HOURS if you need community service hours for school. When you come to the main shelter in Morgan Hill to drop off the donations, someone will be available to sign off on your hours for you. If interested, please fill out the Volunteer registration form at http://www.towncats.org/volunteer-sign-up-form/

We would love your support!

About Town Cats

Location:

PO Box 1828, Morgan Hill, CA 95038, US

Mission Statement

Town Cats is a non-profit volunteer-based no-kill cat and kitten adoption center/shelter and feral cat advocacy organization dedicated to enriching the lives of homeless cats and kittens in the south Santa Clara county through an aggressive rescue and adoption program, TNR (trap, neuter, return), and public education.

Description

Town Cats works to alleviate the suffering of stray, abandoned, unwanted, and feral cats in Santa Clara County. We sponsor innovative programs to help cats in traditional shelters in our county, as well as community cats who live outdoors. We educate the public about the cat overpopulation problem, and provide people with the tools to become part of the solution. Town Cats supports individuals who want to help through aggressive spay/neuter and cat care programs, and by providing vet care and cat food to low income cat guardians, fosters, or owners. We also find permanent, safe, and loving homes for the homeless house cats and kittens in our care.
