Court App

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Berks County invites you to attend their upcoming informational sessions to learn how CASA makes a difference in the lives of abused and neglected children and how you can volunteer to lift up a voice of a child. A CASA is a trained community member, appointed by a judge, to represent the best interest of a child in court. Volunteer advocates get to know the child and the situation by researching the current and background facts of the case, and in talking with the child and parties. They use this information to make recommendations to the judges.

The impact that volunteer advocates make on children in foster care is substantial. Children with a CASA volunteer are more likely to find a safe and permanent home, spend less time in foster care, do better in school, and receive more services while in the foster care system. If you want to make a child’s voice heard, the first step is to attend an informational session!x
