Some hospice patients have no family or loved ones to be with them at the end of life. 11th Hour Volunteers are the "hand holders", "soft readers" or "quiet presence" for hospice patients. This is a truly special opportunity.
"No one should die alone," is the philosophy of 11th Hour. Volunteers sit bedside of patients during this vital and pivotal time of life to provide a caring presence. This is an "on-call" assignment throughout the day and evening hours. Hospice patients are located in St. Joseph, Marshall, Elkhart, Kosciusko, Starke, LaPorte, Fulton, Porter and LaGrange Counties in Northern Indiana.
