Hi-Hope's signiture event is Gwinnett's Got Talent (formerly Gwinnett's Kids Got Talent). This talent show is for youth 18 years of age and under and will take place in February 2017, which means we will be holding auditions in early December 2016. The 1st prize is $1000, followed by $500 and $250 for 2nd and 3rd respectively.

We need someone to spearhead the talent recruitment efforts. Last year we had a great turnout for auditions, most almost everyone was a singer. While we would like to continue to draw vocalists to the auditions, our hope is that a dedicated talent recruitment volunteer can tap into many types of talent - dance, martial arts, acting, comedy, magic, and anything else that amazes.

The duties of this volunteer role inlclude the following:

1. Emailing local businesses with a talent focus - ie. dance studios, theater groups, etc.

2. Calling local businesses with a talent focus

3. In-person recruitment at local businesses

4. Social media promotion of auditions and the event

5. Optional: Recruitment and leadership of larger talent recruitment team

In short, you will be responsible for getting the word out and driving registrations for auditions. Please note, we have found that direct phone calls and in-person recruitment yeild much greater results so you must be comfortable with these approaches.

Thank you and we hope we can bring you on Gwinnett's Got Talent 2017 Planning Committee!

Mission Statement

Hi-Hope Service Center supports adults with developmental disabilities by building and sustaining individual independence.

Description

In 1960 the parents of six young students from Gwinnett County founded one of the first organizations in Georgia to teach children with intellectual disabilities. Under the capable leadership of Mrs.Vinie Lowry and support from many parents and the greater Gwinnett Community construction of a special needs school was completed in 1970. A special needs preschool was added subsequently. In the late 1990’s when all student programs, including the pre-school program, were integrated into the public schools, Hi-Hope became an adult only program.

Today, Hi-Hope Center carries on the founders' legacy of caring and innovation by supporting adults with developmental disabilities by building and sustaining their independence.
