ORGANIZATION: NYC Parks Stewardship Program

Celebrate the Bronx River Forest’s newest hiking trail by volunteering with the Natural Areas Conservancy, Bronx River Alliance, NYC Parks, and REI! We’ll be planting native trees and shrubs, spreading wildflower seed, and removing harmful invasive species while learning about forest ecology and trail management. When our work is done, we’ll end the day with a tour of the newly built loop trail led by Natural Areas Conservancy’s ecologists. Come dressed in workboots or shoes and clothing that can get dirty, and bring a water bottle! Registration is required. Check in at 9:00 a.m. on the Burke Bridge. Questions about the event? Contact the Natural Areas Conservancy: info@naturalareasnyc.org or call 212-360-3356.
