ORGANIZATION: Community Resources, Inc.

Are you a published poet? Would you be interested in sharing your talents with a Denver Public School student who is passionate about poetry? The Academic Mentors Project pairs high achieving, highly motivated 5 th - 11 th grade Denver Public School students who have a passion in a particular topic with volunteers that are accomplished professionals in their field. Together, students and mentors work on projects designed to help the students learn more about particular careers, or to increase their understanding and competence in an area of outstanding ability. Mentors are asked to volunteer approximately 6 hours of their time to share with a student and are asked to divide that time into several shorter meetings.
